....this one must have fallen off the cart on it's way to the promotions department as most great albums do....another one of those 'too good to sell well' works.
There is one song on here I'm not too crazy about, 'Baby' with it's corny sounding god reference....but then that's just me....but that's about it for the bad news here. The rest is half great songs which would easily make great singles in another universe c/w great B-sides, there's a couple of slower/quieter songs but they're still very good songs. It's good vocals/lyrics and great instrumentation - these guys love music...
It's a great album in how it's put together and how you feel like your being taken on a musical ride...the theme seems to be letting go, whether dancing yer ass off or just drifting off to sleep...it's a very positive album but the songs are too good for it to come across as foolish or syrupy.
Within the album there are flashes of great ear techno, acoustic guitar, chanting, singing, a child choir, catchey/driving/clever synth pop.....and as if that's not all: it would appear it's haunted by the ghost of old (Temptation period) New Order!!! If ever cast away on a desert island this one's coming with me. ENJOY!
