Picked this up for my Kindle when it was free - still a bargain at £1-95 (price when I submitted this). Absolutely great fun to read. Action takes place at an archaeological dig and involves 2 sets of villains after artefacts (i.e. gold). There are other hazards in the plot, but it would spoil the story to say too much here, I could see this book as an intriguing action film. This is the sort of book you want to pick it up and read once started (I'm trying to avoid the term 'page-turner'), but I did really always want to see what would happen next. Definitely worth 5 stars, I'm now looking for some other books of this type.

PLAZA Shane M Brown Kindle Edition

A good thriller set at a Central American dig. Plenty of action, two groups of villains and a killer creature. The story is well written but still an easy read and sufficiently interesting, that I was compelled to finish it in a single sitting. I have now reached the age where I need very little sleep but get easily bored and so spend most nights reading or watching vintage movies.

There are a couple or characters in this novel that have been set up for a sequel and so I shall keep an eye open for future works from this author.

Enjoyable action novel with just enough archaeological flavour to add some extra mystery.

This was one of the best books I have ever read, a real page turner from the 1st page I couldn't put it down Clive Cussler and Wilbur Smith had better look out. Keep up the good work, can't wait for more.

I normally treat this kind of book with a certain caginess. Is it horror? is it sci-fi? is it fantasy? The blurb (and the price) attracted me. All I can say is, if you like action/adventure/touch of really scary (not actual horror - unless dismemberment and consumption of human beings counts as such) this is a brilliant read. I'd like to have had some of the characters developed in a bit more depth, but that said I loved it!

At points I found it difficult to remember who was who because there are three different factions of many characters and I kept having to think... is he a good guy, bad guy or one of the others.

Also, without spoiling it, the explanation for the fearsome creature turned out to be a little unbelievable to be honest.

I almost gave up but kept on going because I hate to leave a book unfinished.... it was OK.

I've had this book on my Kindle for months and kept on passing it over for other books but now I wish I had read it sooner.
It felt like a book equivalent of a blockbuster movie (and would probably make a good one).
Gripping and action packed throughout, no drawn out conversations or over-descriptive locations, just a roller coaster of exciting set-pieces.
I must admit the final revelation about the Plaza was a slight let-down to me. I somehow expected something a bit more... I'm not sure what, just something else.
However, the route there was so thrilling I cannot give it less than 5 stars. One of the best books I have read in recent times.
It has certainly made me interested in the authors' other works, though I have found so many "one hit wonders" that I'm not sure I want to spoil the magic...

A thrill-a-minute ride through what quickly proves to be an archaeological minefield. Who are the good guys, who the bad - and what is the ultimate goal that they are all after attaining, one buried deep within a network of cunningly defended chambers constructed 400 years previously? Add in a bunch of invisible man-eating predators, and you're in for a thumping good read. Okay, you've to suspend a certain amount of basic logic, but a well-written story draws you in regardless, and I found this saga managed to do that quite nicely. A couple of the 'mercenaries' were perhaps stereotypical of the genre, but I guess that's mercenaries the world over. In short then; a novel brimming with good old-fashion escapism. So yes, eat your hat, Indiana Jones!

Bought this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. It was well written, with the author having a short sentence\easy style. The adventure and plot were well worked out even though a little far fetched in places however this didn't detract from the tale. It was easy to get embroiled in the story and it always made me want to read on. So I would say if you like a light adventure story with added mystery somewhat in the lines of Indiana jones then give this a try.
