A good thriller set at a Central American dig. Plenty of action, two groups of villains and a killer creature. The story is well written but still an easy read and sufficiently interesting, that I was compelled to finish it in a single sitting. I have now reached the age where I need very little sleep but get easily bored and so spend most nights reading or watching vintage movies.
There are a couple or characters in this novel that have been set up for a sequel and so I shall keep an eye open for future works from this author.
Enjoyable action novel with just enough archaeological flavour to add some extra mystery.
Also, without spoiling it, the explanation for the fearsome creature turned out to be a little unbelievable to be honest.
I almost gave up but kept on going because I hate to leave a book unfinished.... it was OK.
It felt like a book equivalent of a blockbuster movie (and would probably make a good one).
Gripping and action packed throughout, no drawn out conversations or over-descriptive locations, just a roller coaster of exciting set-pieces.
I must admit the final revelation about the Plaza was a slight let-down to me. I somehow expected something a bit more... I'm not sure what, just something else.
However, the route there was so thrilling I cannot give it less than 5 stars. One of the best books I have read in recent times.
It has certainly made me interested in the authors' other works, though I have found so many "one hit wonders" that I'm not sure I want to spoil the magic...

This book was right up my ally. A cracking tale of an archaeological dig full of thrills, spills and twists where the hunters become the hunted. This author is one to watch.Published 21 days ago by Spoggy
Not bad at all. I really enjoyed this book. It was well paced. Just long enough and had good characters. Read morePublished 1 month ago by StevieC
A well woven plot with many twist and turns...although, personally, I could have done without some of the more gory details!Published 7 months ago by L.A.A
The plotline carries you along at a breathtakingly fast pace. If this book is not turned into a blockbuster film then producers are missing a sure fire thing. Read morePublished 11 months ago by J. E. King
Got the book free but the story was spoiled by parts of the story being missing when you moved to the next page. You had to make the words fit.Published 11 months ago by Good story

A violent, brash thoroughly enjoyable romp! Facts and proofing a bit ropey but who cares? Bring on another one please!Published 12 months ago by A Webb
