Compared several receivers for a while and read all the reviews out there but finally decided to go with Pioneers receiver due to the 24 bit flac capability and the flawless Apple integration (which worked without a hitch out of the box). I absolutely love the network capabilities since I have all my cds in flac on a large Ubuntu server running serviio. I am a bit disappointed about the display of information when playing a song. Only the cover art is displayed with the title and artist name. Given that there is internet access one would assume that Pioneer is able to download more information like lyrics (which are anyway in my flacs integrated), artists bio, tour dates, ... It is for my not understandable that so far there is no single music player that is capable of doing that by integrating MusicBrainz, discogs, ... That is why the receiver only got a 4 star rating.
If you have an iPad I highly recommend using it as a remote for the receiver, the app is fantastic. The media streaming section could be a bit larger in terms of window space but otherwise it is flawless. Great job Pioneer. If you stuck with the remote offered by Pioneer, good luck, it is hideous.
The setup of the receiver was amazingly easy. I like the full automatic setup which worked for me out of the box.
The sound and video quality is flawless. I am using KEF speakers and a Sony Bravia TV and there is nothing to complain about the Pioneers ability to produce quality sound and video.
So thanks for a great product, but don't stop there and keep developing a better streaming service user interface.
