Really top quality product, I'm constantly using these in my kitchen. Couldn't cook grains properly without them (I cook brown rice on a very low flame for about 45 mins to an hour). Also good for soups and stews or a finer control over your flame (especially if you have low quality pans with a very thin base).
I would highly recommend these, particularly for any aspiring wholefood cook who will be regularly cooking grains (properly, unlike most people). Absolute class!

I looked around for a while for a suitable heat diffuser to go with my Tagine. some weren't big enough, and a lot of reviews said the ones with handles started to singe and burn after a while, but this one has an inch or so between the diffuser and the wooden part of the handle, and so far it's doing exactly what it's supposed to.

We've had this for some time now and it does do the job by reducing the heat under a pan. However, if you wash it, it will rust and the handle can get in the way a bit. It is however better than another type we've got.
