Case is OK had to wait a long time as it was shipped from Hong Kong, should have said on the listing :(Nice soft leather and is well made but it is a very tight fit sliding the unit in the case, I would have prefered a case like the Samsungs have the the Ace and S2 where it clips in as a lot of the unit is showing. The leather is in the way of the screen at the sides as you sweep you hands over the screen, it's just a bit annoying. But as this was the only case I could get I had to have it, I didn't want it to get damaged. I did buy a screen protector as well which fits perfectly. Good - Well made soft leather, the only case for the wifi 5.0 in leather that I have seen (they do another one which hinges at the top) Bad - Expensive, could give more protection on the edges like the clip in Samsung cases, shipped form Hong Kong waited ages.

Just bought one of these through that well known auction site for £25.50 post paid - delivered in 7 working days from HK. It appears that no one is stocking these items in UK? Oh and that supplier does several other colours too.The item came in a strong black cardboard box with cloth cover and separate belt attachment included. It is a snug (not tight) fit and suits the YP-G70 perfectly with access to all buttons, connectors, camera and speakers. With the case fitted it more or less doubles the thickness of the unit, such is the padding; however the other dimensions are only increased by a few mm. There are a couple of slots inside which could hold business cards etc. and the spine is designed such that it will hold a small pen or pencil, so with email and internet access you have a complete office! The leather is really soft and this colour (black) comes with white stitching which IMO sets it off and gives it some style. If you are paying good money for a quality product like the YP-G70 it's worth spending that little extra on a quality case to protect it and that's what this is.

I originally ordered this through Amazon but when I found out it would take 3 weeks to deliver, I cancelled. (Ordering online - with Amazon Prime - is about instant, or almost instant gratification, isn't it?). But after a fairly extensive search, I found there are very few case options for the Galaxy Player 5.0, so I ended up at the PDAir website and ordered direct from the manufacturer (in China) for the same price and free shipping. Delivery took exactly 2 weeks.Anyway, the product does the job of offering the player some protection, but it is nothing special. I definitely wouldn't have paid the listed price for it in any other circumstance. The only thing that holds the player in place is case's snug fit. I wonder how long that fit will last. More importantly, pushing in the USB cord or headphones can dislodge the player. Depending on where it is or how you're holding it at the time, that can result in a disaster. Also, there are no straps to balance the fit/hold, so the case flexes and bends at areas that aren't held on (top front and back). Another thing the makes me question durability. The only screen protection is the closed cover. So you will need additional screen protection. I added the Skinomi TechSkin - Screen Protector Shield for Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0. Which is spectacular. On the plus side, there are cutouts for the major connections, so I can charge, use headphones, camera and mic without removing the case. And there are two pockets on the cover for small notes, receipts or business cards. And room on the side for a pen or stylus. Given the limited options on the market and the enormous hassles of returning this to China, I will keep it. The case fits perfectly to the device, without significant adding to thickness (still fits in suite pocket). Belt clip is also an option added. Access to all connectors is unimpeded. As heavy user of the device do not find any restrictions for use while in the case (discrete but protective).

Overall, the case does it's job. It provides what is, so far, great protection.I did find it a bit difficult to put on. Fair warning, it is a VERY tight fit. At first, after struggling for several minutes, I was about to return it as the wrong product. But after giving it one last try, I succeeded in getting it on my Samsung. I am concerned about how well the leather section holding the front to the main part will last, as it is constantly bent back in order to use the Samsung. Only time will tell. |
