Searched high and low for a Type I PCMCIA adapter for my 2011 Model Mercedes E350 Sports Coupe Command system so as I could download media from my SD card. Mercedes quoted £60. Tried 2 other types at quadruple the price of this one but seems they were Type II adapters and would not work. This is an amazing gadget for the price and works a treat.

Bought this adapter to use in my 2008 Honda EX CRV SatNav/Entertainment system so I could play music in the car in the same way as an mp3 player. This adapter allows the use of old SD cards (2GB max) or SM pro duo in memory stick (4gb works fine) filled with mp3 files. Honda users be aware you can not use SDHC cards as they will not be recognised by system also reading other forums there may issues the number of (song) files that the cr-v can read from a single card so I have not used 8gb cards , I am very pleased with the adapter hence my 4 star rating.

I use this to load files onto the built in hard disk in my Mercedes. Works a treat. Highly recommended.

Great product at a great price
The card reader/adapter worked without a problem. However, the maximum card size the adapter appears to accept is 2GB. Anything larger and the card is not recognised.

Doesn't work for me on XP!
I tried this on a Win 7 laptop and it works perfectly but when plugged in to an XP SP2 Dell M4300 - it fails to recognise the SD card plugged in to the adaptor - but worse than... Read more

disappointed
Item has a memory limit not specified on web entry didnt work in application it was bought for. Wont read from 16 and 32gb SD cards. very disappointed.

Work great with Mercedes NTG3 systems
This item works great in with Mercedes NTG3 systems. Fits snugly in PCMCIA slot. Would thoroughly recommend. I'm using with a 4GB SD card, have yet to try a larger size.
