The Pussycat Dolls were hyped up to be the next big thing, and when they burst onto the music scene earlier this year, they had a lot to live up to. Their first single went straight to the top of the charts in September, and is now one of the most recognisable songs of the year. The album is an eclectic mix of styles, encompassing r'n'b, rap, hip-hop, dance, soul, and even latino music. Here is a track by track rating:
1. Don't Cha - The first single taken from the album is a shout out to all the girls out there. It went straight in at number 1, stayed there for three weeks, and deservedly so. It's a catchy, funky track. 9/10
2. Beep - This is a hip-hop/electro track. The lyrics are cheeky and the beat is great. It's a collaboration with . Maybe a future single? 8/10
3. Wait A Minute - Not really feeling this one. I don't think it's up to the standard of the rest of the album. It's not too bad thought. It features Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas. 6/10
4. Stickwitu - Stupid title, but a great song. The forthcoming single, and I think it's a really sweet heartfelt song, but there are stronger songs on the album. 8/10
5. Buttons - This track is great! A nice Asian backing track with sensual lyrics from the Dolls. It would be a good choice for a single. 9/10
6. I Don't Need A Man - A girl power song, quite similar to Crazy In Love by Beyoncé. Great beat, great lyrics, one of the album's highlights. 9/10
7. Hot Stuff (Want You Back) - Best track on the album. I'm praying they release this as I'm sure they would have a big hit. It's a disco-tastic track that covers Donna Summer, but with a twist. 10/10
8. How Many Times, How Many Lies - A slower track, quite sad really. Not up with rest of the tracks and feels a bit like filler. 7/10

When everybody first heard Dont Cha, it was easy to pass PCD off as a one-hit wonder band. I did it. But slowly, Don't Cha crept up on me and I began to love it. Tho I can usually tell a good album from one song, I was feeling hit and miss about this one. It could have been one of my favourites or a real disappointment. Luckily, it is now in my top 10 fav albums ever!!
I'll go thru each song individually.
1. Don't Cha - 10/10 - When you examine the song, the beat isnt that original, the verses are a bit dull, it doesnt build up to much and all that makes it is the saucy chorus. But as one whole package, it has hit stamped all over it. Amazing song, but not the best on the album.
2. Beep - 9/10 - When you hear this, you know it will be a single whether or not you like. It has a quality. I like the idea of having the swear words beeped out for effect. Albums littered with swear words are annoying and pointless. But this has a good beat, quite original, and I really like Wil.I.Am's vocals. It suits the song.
3. Wait A Minute - 10/10 - AMAZING. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Best song on the album. Instant hit when you hear it. Very original, I love the chorus when the girls harmonise and the mans voice really adds something.
4. Stickwitu - 8/10 - The token ballad. It sounds a bit dull but it does grow on you. Isnt that original but nice and sweet. Probably a single.
5. Buttons - 7/10 - Not too keen on this Quite fighty and angsty but ok.
6. I Dont' Need A Man - 10/10 - V remeniscent of Crazy In Love and equally amazing. Second only to Wait A Minute. Really amazing.
7. Hot Stuff- 10/10 - Cover but still a great song. Sounds like So Good(Rachel Stevens) mixed with Wake Me Up(Girls Aloud) plus Hot Stuff. Really catchy.

I hesitated when I bought this album, but I am very glad I took a chance on it. It's brilliant, most of the tracks are very upbeat with wait a minute, beep and bite the dust being very catchy. There are a couple of covers sway and tainted love but don't let that put your off, even the slow songs are well worth listening to.If you like pop music with a hint of Rnb/Hip-Hop and guest rappers then this is the album for you.

I had no intention of purchasing this album at first until I was recommended it by a friend, and I've not stopped listening to it since! Fantastic debut, 'Don't cha' is still as addictive as it was when it was first released, although the single version with the rap is better than this one. There's a mix of pop (Hot Stuff (Want You Back) must be released as a single; it's fantastic, and one of the highlights); ballads ('Stickwitu' is a sure fire Number. 1 in the States if not in the UK), and my favourite, the R&B track, 'Beep', which will hopefully be a future single... fingers crossed. Latino style, 'Sway' is also a highlight.
So there's something for everyone here, and it's certainly one of the best albums 've bought in a long time!
Great stuff.

This album is really good! I never thought I'd buy the album after don't cha; the song didn't really do anything for me at first, but then it grew on me - a real girly anthem! But I bought the album after hearing their cover of the classic 'Sway' in the film 'Shall We Dance'. It's a very good cover! A song from 'Shark Tale' as well I think! And the lead singer can actually sing. Quite a few covers on the album but forunately for them, they've done the originals justice. On a first listening, a few songs really stand out, and then you notice another one the next time round...and so on...until you actually enjoy listening to the whole album throughout-it's great! It's not just a party album either, there are a few ballads. To sum up, a funky, sexy, unique and top quality album! So what if Destiny's Child have broken up?!!! Haha! The only reason i didn't give it a 5 is because noone and nothing is perfect! I hope you like it, especially now I 've built it up so much!
