Product Description

PAST LIVES is a medical thriller which explores the nightmare of multiple personality disorder uncovered by American neurosurgeon John Macandrew in one of his patients after brain surgery. His patient’s agony and the dreadful revenge taken by her husband, who wrongly blames Macandrew for his wife’s condition, brings him across the Atlantic in search of answers. His quest takes him from the windswept ramparts of Culzean Castle in Scotland to a research laboratory at Edinburgh University and from there to a remote Benedictine monastery; from Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris to Marseilles and across the Mediterranean to Corsica and Malta. Someone knows the secret of multiple personality disorder and they’d like it to stay that way. But the sinister biblical scholar, Dom Ignatius has already found it out and plans to use the knowledge for his own selfish ends – the uncovering of an eye witness to the events of two thousand years ago.

PAST LIVES was first published in the UK by Allison & Busby Ltd. in 2006.

Ken McClure is the internationally bestselling author of over twenty medical thrillers such as The Lazarus Strain, The Gulf Conspiracy, White Death and Dust to Dust. His books have been translated into twenty-five languages and he has earned a reputation for the accuracy of his predicitions. 5.0 out of 5 stars A REAL CRACKER!!!! 1 Dec 2007
I have just read this and two other Ken McClure books and can't believe that this guy isn't more famous.

This is a real murder mystery in the old fashioned sense with a 'supernatural' twist - though perhaps even that choice of word can be debated!!! Are the patients suffering from some wierd brain tumour remembering past lives lived or are they suffering from a disease induced schizophrenia and how come they seem to know about things and places that occurred 1000's of years ago?

As the previous poster says, rogue priests chasing around in the hunt for some old christian artefacts leads the hero to discover some shocking goings on with fatal results!!!

This book is not only a fast paced page turner (you won't be able to put it down), but it has some unusual twists coupled with some intelligent information and scientific data that will stimulate as well as interest any reader who likes a bit thought to go with his book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another gripping page turner 16 Mar 2012

You know what you're getting with a Ken McClure yarn. A well thought out plot, with plenty of twists and turns, edge of your seat reading. And this is up to his usual standard. I really enjoy the level of detail that the author brings to his work from his medical background. This particular story lead to some interesting debate amongst my group of friends as to the nature of memory. It's not tangible, so what and where is it? So in addition to a highly plausible mystery thriller, there's room for some philosophical ponderings if that takes your fancy.

Mr McClure's characters are well drawn and I found the good guys plausible and the bad guys menacing. The switches in location were well handled with the reader getting a real sense of being in Edinburgh or Paris or even a Roman 'past life'. Fast paced, entertaining and great escapist reading.

This is the first Ken McClure book I have read. I have downloaded lots as they became free and medical thrillers is one of my favourite genres.

This was a great tale, plenty of science and plenty of action. It was very well written and kept me interested throughout. He even made you believe in the far fetched bits.

If you like the Dan Brown Books this is the Author for you, gripping from Start to Finish Nice descriptions of Locations s obviously the Author has been to those places, but not recently as some descriptions of UK are slightly dated Good Characters well described and a story which is a real page turner.
When I read a book I think of it being turned into a movie and who I would get to play the Characters this is one of those books
Well worth the £3 or so cost

Mr McClure's medical background makes what could be an unbelievable plot seem totally plausible. Everything in the plot and the setting is expertly crafted and there are plenty of exciting turns and twists on this ride. It left me staying up at night to finish it.
