Visually brilliantly inventive and moving,this was a real find,with a beautiful and deeply engaging performance by Renee Falconetti in the lead role.Play with the Voices of Light music which provides a sympathetic complement to the film.A word of advice about this korean copy;the english subtitles could not be accessed by selecting them from the menu in the usual way.I managed to obtain them finally by pressing menu on the remote when the dvd started and then choosing the english sutitles option.Having said that,the picture and sound quality were both very good.

Excellent quality and delivered very promptly. Only problem was knowing which of two versions to buy. This one works on UK DVD player and has the full film with music and English subtitles (it is a silent movie originally with French subtitles)

I was despairing at ever seeing this original. Friends had seen it at Film studies at Uni, but I hadn't. Only the second-rate (in comparison) later efforts from other directors. Without doubt one of the most powerfully passionate and emotional movies, ever. A rare 10/10, from me.
Korean releases can be a bit hit and miss; I've had juddery panning movements (that's because you played it on a Panasonic player, Sir)! but this played sublimely.
I would definitely suggest that you choose the second option of the music. I don't think it was written specially and has a rather glib title but it as you would imagine it to be (or dreamed) - soaring choirs, dramatic crescendos where they should be and pained solos to paint an overall vivid and totally compelling experience. It's in great stereo, as well.
You do have to be quite careful in picking the right language though, as simply removing the (standard) Korean subtitles leaves it in French. You have to return back to the Top menu to reset it. You (probably) want it with English subtitles.
That it comes at a bargain price and delivered quickly makes for an absolute must for any serious movie watcher.
