This Teflon-coated stirrer is such an improvement on the original metal one. A baked loaf is now extracted from the pan easily, whereas before the stirrer stuck in the bread and had to be dug out. Not cheap but one of my best recent buys!

I sent for this kneading blade with some tredipation wondering whether it would work, as it is for multi-types of Panasonic breadmakers. Goodness knows how I lost the original one but I was thrilled to find that this new one looks the same as the original and works just as good. It was good value for money, too as some websites only sold it as part of a set some of which were quite exepensive, and if you only need the kneading blade would have been a waste of money, so altogethr I was very pleased to be able to make my loaves again at a reasonable price. Incidentally mine is the SD257. It came quite quickly too.
The old style paddle seems to lose its non-stick coating quicker than the rest of the mixing bowl. This is a lot cheaper than a new bread maker!

Get the real thing
I've needed a replacement paddle for a while, bought one that was supposed to work with a panasonic but didnt quite work properly, so the moral of the story is buy the real thing. Read more
