I purchased this as more of a DVD player than a Blu-ray player given I have a lot of Region 1 dvds. Most Blu-rays are region free anyway.
The player is smaller than I imagined but it looks very sleek.
HDMI cable was included so this was good.
Instructions for how to change region coding were also included but not needed as the player automatically detects the specific region of the discs.
This avoids the hassle of having to select the appropriate code before watching a movie. This is another great feature.
The remote is on the small side and the buttons are really clustered together.
I've often hit the 'home' button when I wanted to press the 'OK' button. It can be very frustrating and will take me a little while to get used to it. (This is the primary reason I did not give the product 5 stars).
The player itself only has a power button, eject button, play & stop buttons so if the remote breaks, your options are very limited.
The player is quiet overall with only the odd disc noise here and there. Not enough to distract.
It has a USB point for firmware updates if needed.
I've had zero problems playing any discs from any region so I'm very happy with my purchase.

Finally an affordable and reliable blu ray player that plays dvds and blu ray discs from the US and many other countries.
The setting up is manual and it takes one minute. Once the set up is done, you don't need to keep choosing regions or zones.
I played dvds and blu ray discs from Europe and US without a problem. The signal of this player is NTSC so I expect the
quality of images to be a bit inferior to my previous player, which is Pal system.
It says in the box that streaming video is only supported by Windows 7. I'm not sure about the technical aspect of this matter
but, by what I understood, this unit wouldn't be compatible with Netflix through a macintosh. Maybe I'm wrong but I think it is
worth to mention this. The limitation to windows is not a problem for me. I have mac but I have zero interest in netflix or in
in any kind of connection between the player and my computer so, up to me, I would rate this product as five stars.
But I don't write reviews for myself so I rated it four stars because of the windows only option.
Many excellent old films are only available in the US zones (Blu ray discs) and regions ( dvds ). This code free blu ray player, at this price,
is a fantastic device for anyone who loves films. Films such as "Sunflower" with Sofia Loren and Marcello Mastroiainni. The DVD copy that you will find on Amazon and
iLove Film is of disgraceful poor quality and it shouldn't be allowed in the market. I received the blu ray disc today and checked it. I had goose bumps when I watched the first seconds of the film:

One other advantage of this player is that, if you watch TV series, then you don't need to wait so long for the next season of a series. I ordered, after receiving this player, the season 7 of Weeds.
The discs are US zone and wouldn't play in my previous blu ray player, which was for Europe only. Season 7 of Weeds in the European system might take a year to be available. Big Love, season 5,
will be available only in august here but, thanks to this blu ray player, I could order the American dvds and will receive them in a couple of weeks. Not that I am counting the days as season 4 was really weak.
The dimensions of the player are 43 cm x 18.5 cm x 3.5 cm or, to use the imperial system, approximately 16 15/16" x 7 5/16" x 1 7/16".
It is very light and I could hold the box with only one hand. It comes with remote control and batteries, HDMI cable and power cable compatible with
UK and also European power outlets.
