Perhaps 50 Cent realised that '21 Questions' undid all the good work that 'In Da Club' had started by making him look like a bit of wet blanket and decided that he needed to remind us of his gangsta credentials? Whatever the reason for this release, we should be happy because this is one of the pre-eminent singles of 2003.
The calypso drum intro and the catchy-as-hell chorus / chant of, "I don't know what you heard about me / but a bi**h can't get a dollar out of me / no Cadillac, no perms you can't see / that I'm a mo**erf***ing P.I.M.P." tells us that this is going to rock just as many clubs as 'In Da Club'. After the somewhat soppy '21 Questions', it's good to have 50 back to his bragging best. And then, just when you think it can't sound any more like 1994, in comes Snoop Dogg for the remixed version.
DJs will be playing this in clubs for a good few months yet, if you wish to play it in your home, I suggest you buy a copy as soon as it's released.
