It took me a long time to make the decision to try a paramo, many hours scouring the Web reading reviews. Having taken the plunge it is the best decision I have ever made supremely, comfortable, rustle free and 100% waterproof. No matter what the Gods decide to throw at you this is the jacket to shrug it off and keep you cosy. The versatility of it unbelievable, no matter what the level of activity I have yet to have any condensation problems, I made the purchase for hill walking but now find myself wearing it every day. Whatever you need a waterproof for serious outdoor pursuits or just commuting then don't hesitate, this is THE jacket. The only problem is I have now become a convert! Will never go back to **** tex or any other plastic bag type waterproof.

I bought this because my ten year old inexpensive membrane jacket was very tired and leaked and had worn zips. Reviews were promising but I had my doubts. Earlier ++++haus products have proved very short lived for me in terms of waterproofing so I was keen to try new technology, and Nikwax Analogy offered this. So, I've now worn it for a week in this awful wet weather and I walk on the Malvern Hills twice a day with the dog. The rain has been often almost horizontal and driving in hard. So far the Paramo Alta 11 has not leaked. It's warm with a fleece under and the hood and face covering work well for me. The zips are very easy to use and I use all the pockets to carry a phone and doggie bags and a ball and gloves and a torch, so lots of easy access pockets was an essential and many jackets seem to have too few for me. With one weeks use of heavy rain pretty much every day, so far I'm delighted. I also use the arm vent zips as climbing the hills to the Beacon cannot be done without a bit of perspiration. And they seem to help vent the jacket. Altogether it is showing great promise.

Bought my Alta II for winter fell/mountain walking as I had to wear lots of layers under my Gortex jacket to keep warm. What a brill bit of kit. I now use it from around Sept/Oct to March/April [depending on how high I am going] and adjust the amount of layers to suit. With regards to being waterproof it beats '3 Layer' Gortex/E-vent type of materials hands down. This jacket is so warm it is not suitable for general summer use in the UK unless you are going up high on very cold days. To sum up it's the best mid/heavy weight jacket on the market considering it can be purchased for well under £200 if you look hard enough.

It's a great jacket, totally water and wind proof. The sleeve cuff fastenings are a bit difficult to use though.
