Product Description

Utilizing natural ceramic as a coating, the Green Earth Wok by Ozeri is one of the world's first woks to achieve non-stick perfection while remaining absolutely free of PTFE, PFOA and other harmful chemicals. Conventional non-stick cookware is achieved through a coating of PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene), a synthetic substance that has waxy properties. At very high temperatures, PTFE begins to decompose and release fumes which are documented to be lethal to birds and small pets, and which can be harmful to humans. In addition, traditional cookware incorporating PTFE is manufactured with the aid of PFOA (PerFluoroOctanoic Acid), which the EPA has classified as a 'persistent pollutant of the environment'. With the Green Earth Wok's ecozeri technology, even under high temperatures, no harmful toxic fumes are ever released into the environment. This is because the Green Earth Wok by Ozeri utilizes a 100% ceramic coating derived from nature - not from a laboratory. The Green Earth Wok's ceramic coating is completely free of PTFE and PFOA. In addition to being completely eco-friendly and ultra-safe, the Green Earth Wok's natural ceramic coating is far more durable and scratch-resistant than other non-stick surfaces. With better non-stick properties, the Green Earth Wok by Ozeri allows you to cook with as little as half the amount of oil normally used, and it makes cleaning a breeze. The Green Earth Wok by Ozeri is made of the highest quality anodized aluminum that allows for even cooking and fantastic browning without the risk of hot spots. It boasts a magnetized bottom for rapid heat transfer on induction stoves, and a heat resistant Bakelight handle. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Clearly I am outnumbered here with regard to my opinion but if you use this on a gas hob it is totally useless. Everything sticks to it - chicken, bacon, sausages. I followed the manufacturer's instructions not to overheat the pan "owing to the excellent heat retaining properties" but needed to add lots of oil to get the food off the wok. Maybe it is suited to halogen or electric hobs but experiment over - I'm going back to my trusty Tefal wok.

I am a Chinese originated from Hong Kong. We use wok for everyday cooking. Those PTFE non-stick woks (tried cheap & expensive), worn out after 9 month of use. Ceramic coating has been a while back in 60's but they used to crack and rust followed. This is a new technology with high temperature resistance and improve adhesion even on aluminium. One similar in Hong Kong I visited recently would cost £70 and some even £100! Try not to bring it to high heat like we do in traditional cooking or use it for deep fry. Just bought a second one for mother-in-law.

I haven't had much luck with woks in the past; I don't have the patience to faff around with seasoning a traditional wok and my previous (so-called) non-stick woks have not lived up to their name. I am delighted to report that the wok does exactly what it says on the tin! It has coped with cooking everything without food getting stuck to the bottom of it and having to be scraped off. I tried deep frying oil at a high temperature for some squid rings and they turned out beautifully, although generally, I've found I used less oil when frying, which is a bonus. Best of all, this wok cleans up so easily and without having to threaten it with a good scouring; even scrambled egg just washed off with soapy water without any trouble at all. I love it.

First of all let me start by saying when it comes to woks don't ask have you tried because I have, trust me.
I came across this one, read item description claiming 'non stick' characteristic, read user comments glorifying it to high heaven thinking 'yeah right, here we go again'.
I was very skeptical I must admit, until I used it for the first time...

It is just incredible, the best thing I bought for the kitchen for a long long time.
I love stir fried squid and seafood in general but so far it was not a pleasant experience because it would always stick no matter what.
Cooking with this wok was a sheer pleasure.
I could not believe my eyes when I washed it afterwards, there was not a drop of water left on its non stick surface.
Cleaning took literally 5 seconds and after inspecting the surface it was immaculate, I could not find a single bit of food stuck on.

I fried a piece of fish and it was the same story, absolutely perfect.

If you need a non stick wok believe me you will struggle to find a better one because I tried them all.
I would give it 10 stars if that was possible.

This is an amazing product which I am more than happy to recommend. We have used it almost daily since it arrived and it still works perfectly. It's non-stick elements are amazing and it works perfectly on our induction hob. Worth every penny!

I have bought two of these woks and they are really GOOD, but then purchased two Ozeri lids(12") for the 12" Wok. Sent them back as they are much too small and useable. Why doesn't a 12" lid fit a 12" pan?

Ok this wok is a great wok and the pans are great pans ... BUT you need to realise your buying a "special "
Pan and need to look after it.

I've had my wok and frying pan from green earth about 8 months and they are both still work amazingly the frying pan as new and the wok nearly as new (probably as the bf cooks in that one more :/ !!!)

Here are some tips:

Don't put the pans in the dishwasher. They wash up v. Quickly ( few seconds) you don't need to. The dishwasher will Damage them.

Wait for pan to cool before washing up... sticking cold water in it to soak is not necessary and will
Damage it from going hot to cold ... You don't need to EVER soak the pan anyway.. Just let it cool and wash up.

Every week TO 2 weeks I use a bit of Kitchen roll with some coconut oil and grease all the pans

Every time I cook unless I'm
Boiling a liquid I used a tsp of coconut oil

I have an induction hob. I heat the pan up slowly and never have the pan on the heat without either coconut oil in it, food and coconut oil or liquid... ( coconut oil is my preffered choice ) but you use whatever you want too. My old tefal pans id put the pan on heat and then start putting bits in it WITH THESE OIL FIRST

I never have the pan hotter than dial 7 (out of 9) you don't need to. I never have the pan hotter than 4 without and food or liquid.. So only use oil up to 4 on it's own.
You have to wait longer for it to heat but it cooks quickly once hot ... So be patient and then you'll get quick results.

Please understand your buying a pan that needs a slightly different approach and if you grasp it and work with it you have a fab pan/ wok that cooks quickly and cleans easily.
