Although they have a neat design (they flash so it is easy to see the kid in the dark) however they have a poor make. Two of the pads (one knee, one elbow) have the battery compartments loose, so even if you screw it tightly it still can go out. Then I had to replace two of the batteries (completely dead which shouldn't be the case) and now one of the pads stopped working completely, and another blinks a few times and then goes off. So, the flashing part is more of a nuisance than a real lasting feature.
As protective pads, they are still holding up, the Velcro bands are quite bad already but I can see them lasting for another year or so. Regardless, I am not impressed with the pads, my son is 2 years old, I can't imagine what would be the wear if he was older and had harder and more falls.
