I have bought two of these, the first being purchased in November 2009 for my dad, who suffers with severe emphysema and the second in April 2010 for another person.
Up until I bought this device, my dad had never visited his doctors to see if more could be done to improve his situation, or to report worsening of symptoms. This changed after seeing how low his oxygen levels were. The readings worried him so much that he went to his doctors and after confirming his oxygen levels were that low, he was referred to a specialist, given new medication and received oxygen for use indoors as well as a portable canister for outdoor use, which has made a difference to the quality of his life.
The back light is very bright, the display is clear and using the device couldn't be any easier.
Simply place the device on your finger and press the button, once you have your reading (oxygen level and pulse rate), remove the device and within five seconds it automatically turns off.
The box which is said to be a case in the description isn't really a case, it is a cardboard box with foam, it does still provide good protection and this is the way I would recommend carrying the device.
A neck strap is included but one little let down with this is that the manufactures web address is written across it in multiple places, which sort of turns you into a walking advertisement. As well as the neck strap the device also comes with a user manual and two batteries.
I've uploaded some pictures to go along with this review which you can view at the top of the product page.
