Product Description

Review

To have this immense amount of information at your fingertips is a precious commodity, but to have it current, evidence-based, and easy-to-reference is beyond reckoning. The book will be invaluable for clinicians as a reference to the myriad therapeutic possibilities and their specific benefits for various disorders. Make room on your bookshelf for this one or, better yet, clear a space on your desk to have it close at hand. (Doody's Notes,)

Aaron M. Vedock, MSW, LICSW, BCD - Psychotherapist 30 Sept. 2013
By Aaron M. Vedock - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is a well written, and much needed text of current thought and research addressing the major modalities of psychotherapy, and specific therapeutic interventions for all of the major mental illness. The text also offers chapters on psychotherapy specific across the life cycle, and for specific populations including: medical patients, gender issues, sexual orientation, and cross-cultural concerns. Ethics and legal concerns in psychotherapy are also evaluated. I've found the text to be quite helpful in my development as a psychotherapist, and find myself referring to the text frequently. In spite of the text many accolades, I to concur with other reviews who have complained about the font-size of the text. They should include a magnifying glass when you purchase this book, (This is why I rate this book as 4 out of 5 stars). On the whole, it is a useful and relevant evaluation of current thought on issues pertinent to many psychotherapists.

What the hell were they thinking??? 18 Dec. 2009
By Castellano - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
The font size is a joke!? It's the smallest print letter I've ever seen! What's the point of editing an interesting and complete book, if the reader's gonna end up with a headache after 5 minutes of reading? If I had known, I'd definitely wouldn't have bought it.
