I purchased the Oxford Learner's Spanish Dictionary (Oxford Learner's Dictionary) and the Oxford Learner's French Dictionary (Oxford Learner's Dictionary) which are absolutely brilliant for any one taking a GCSE in a Modern Foreign Language. I have purchased both the Spanish and the French version of the dictionary, which are equally brilliant, but for those of you studying German, then there's Oxford Learner's German Dictionary (Oxford Learner's Dictionary) too.
The dictionaries give simple definitions of words, with a French to English section, then a grammar/specific vocabulary relating to topics such as writing a letter, text messaging and email, school, careers and future plans, jobs and work experience, travel, transport and finding the way - the list goes on. Included in this middle section is the formation of regular verbs and irregular verbs in all the various tenses. In the back section of the dictionary is the English to French section.
The dictionary is brilliant because it gives examples of how the particular verbs or words can be used. When you get the dictionary, I recommend that you read the first few pages for the introduction which lets you know exactly how to use it.
The dictionaries that I purchased should be absolutely fine for the Edexcel and AQA GCSE Courses, however this particular one is specially created for the OCR exam board. To summarise the list of dictionaries available:

This dictionary covers everyones needs from English to French or French to English and lots more, a must for anyone who is learning French for the first time.

Though you can't find every word or idiom on it, it's a good dictionary with examples phrases for the use of words. Also, there is a part in the very middle of it, where you can find some crucial information about usage of language with illustrations.
