Amazon Verified Purchase
It seems strange to describe a dictionary as fantastic but this one is. I did look through a number of dictionaries and this far outshone the others, partly because it differs in its purpose.
The clarity and layout are great. The real joy though is the examples of use which puts this dictionary into an area between dictionary and grammar perhaps. The book is described as a Learner's dictionary but this is not a low ceiling.
This could be viewed negatively though. It is not a dictionary for the rucksack and an immediate translation but one for the desk. An entry may take the bulk of a page in some cases but so be it - the short translation is always immediate.
Be wary that this dictionary is Greek to English only. You need the supplementary English to Greek to as well if you really want to benefit from this approach, and of course the pocket dictionary for the rucksack!

I purchased this dictionary as an upgrade to an older edition of my Oxford Greek-English Dictionary. I find the Learner's Dictionary very easy to use. It is clearly set out and the new version has words in blue and definitions in black ink making it much easier to navigate. There are a lot of up-dates and inclusion of new vocabulary. The Greek-English and English Greek Dictionaries are now the same height, which makes storage neater than previously.

This dictionary is very detailed and is not really necessary below GCSE-ish standard, and for absolute beginners I would suggest it is a hinderance. Read more
