I've had a lot of fun looking at the origins and meanings of some of the idioms in use. Also useful to find a few new ones as well.

Oxford dictionaries bill themselves as "the world's most trusted reference books". It is disappointing that such a pillar of knowledge is not available in anything more lasting than paperback. (Sept. 2003)
