Revised and updated, the new edition contains a number of new entries, but what makes it really attractive is the classified list of all the entries in the book, which previous editions did not have. Some of the entries, such as the art movements, styles, museums, etc. are given a substantial space which they rightly deserve, whereas most of the artists, collectors and galleries are represented by compact biographical accounts. I find the writing style and overall structure most suitable for a quick art reference source. First edition 1990, the total of over 2,500 entries. Highly recommended art dictionary.

Every art student should own this. Its really handy for essays dissertations etc. Also for anyone who has a great interest in art literature.
