In order to come to terms with the death of a close friend, Kate Ivory has escaped Oxford and found sanctuary in a friend's cottage a few miles away. Veronica Stallwood was born in London, educated abroad and now lives near Oxford. In the past she has worked at the Bodleian Library and more recently at New College Library.
