if you're serious about learning albanian, then this book is for you. if you're looking just to learn phrases and conversational stuff, you might be a bit overwhelmed by the vast amount of information but don't be put off by this. i think one of the main suprises for me was that the book offered translations of proverbs and colloquialisms which gives a real insight into culture. the definitions are clear and unambiguous, covering standard, non-standard, old, new and dialectical phrases and words. if you buy this dictionary, you need never buy another albanian dictionary and it would be an exceptional aid to any learning programme. definitely good value for money.

I did not realise until it arrived that it was only 'one-way' ie: from Albanian to English and not vice-versa.

I bought this book about 15 pounds including delivery, it came from USA and arrived fairly quickly. The book was in great almost perfect condition, i looked at price mark on back of book it said 30 pounds new! Oxford dictionaries of any language have to be the best and so was this, however i bought it for a friend and they would have found it more helpful if it had ENGLISH-ALBANIAN translations as well as ALBANIAN-ENGLISH translations. However a great buy, i would recommend it to any Albanian speaker learning English. Bargain buy!
