5.0 out of 5 stars Concise and Precise 22 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback
This is a comprehensive guide on how to maximize your chances of getting into Oxbridge. I agree with others that it is a bit short - but it is overall well worth it and the resources section is particularly well thought out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very small. 23 April 2014

Not really much I didn't already know.
Very thin too, like a leaflet so I don't really think it's worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short, Clear, Concise - Great guide! 5 Aug 2010
By Biga G
Format:Paperback
I bought the guide so I could gain a deeper understanding of the Cambridge admissions process and of course to boost the chances of some one close to me getting in.
We've been to a few courses on the topic (Kaplan, Oxbridge interviews, Oxbridge applications) and have been to the recent University open days.
They were useful, but this guide offered far more clarity and depth than any of them, at a very affordable price.

I certainly recommend this to anyone, parent or prospective applicant, who wants to get more information about Oxbridge Medicine and greatly improve their chances of getting in.

This guide is fantastic, I'll be applying for medicine this year and I can honestly say I feel so much more confident about the application process now that I've bought this book. It has everything, it's the perfect walk-through walk-into Oxbridge guide!

Content: clear, concise and most importantly correct! It's been reviewed by professors at both oxford and cambridge, so you know that this really is 'insider' information. On top of this there are student profiles for each section, giving you an insight into other peoples own experiences so you know exactly what to expect when you apply. At the back are a number of resources and websites which are particularly useful as they take you directly to the best sources of information. This guide really does cover everything!

Design: the photos and the design of this guide are excellent - you actually feel like you're in oxford or Cambridge, perfect if you've missed the open days or the universities are too far for you to visit.

Cost: this guide has everything and comes at a price of just 10 pounds! This is much less than oxbridge courses which in my experience can cost hundreds of pounds, have far less information and aren't even done by Oxbridge students or professors.

I would recommend this guide for anyone considering applying to any medical school, oxbridge or not. It has all the information and insights you need at a very affordable price. Anyone without it will be at a big disadvantage..order one now!

The book is well written, clear, easy to understand, and most importantly gets to the nuts bolts of what's needed to get through. I would highly recommend the book to anyone considereing applying for medicine.

As a self help book, its quite good value too, in my opinoin.

Good luck to those who are applying sometime in the near future! This book just might give you the edge over the private school kid who has been spoon fed all their life!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for any potential oxbridge medics... 22 Jun 2010
By Z. Khan
Format:Paperback
In my opinion all potential oxbridge medics should buy this guide. It contains valuable insight into the application process and aims to make oxbridge accessible to all.

My favorite aspects of the guide are the testimonials from the students. Here you get the chance to hear from students that have made it through the process and learn from their real experiences.

It is extremely easy to read with a well thought out structure and very clear and concise take away messages.

There are many bright students being turned away by the oxbridge application procedure or not giving themselves the best chances of getting in just because they do not know what it involves - this guide unravels all the intricacies and shows that with the right preparation you can give yourself a fighting chance of being at one of the top educational institutes in the world.
