Format: Paperback
This is an OK book if you are starting out as an entrepreneur and want to learn some basic tactics on how to become an expert in your niche. Nothing groundbreaking though.
The style of the author is very down to earth, it gives some useful tips if you have never tackled this topic before. If you are looking for more advanced strategies and tactics this is not the right book for you.

This book is a very easy read, containing useful ideas that you can implement yourself to increase your on-line presence and, as the book title says, own your own niche.

Each chapter has a wealth of ideas and supporting resources (including hyperlinks and further reading) and every chapter concludes with a short interview with a successful business owner who gives examples of how they have grown their own business using some of the tactics described in the book.

I read the Kindle edition of this book and after each chapter found myself making notes for further research and action on my part. I'm positive I'll be referring back to this book a number of times as I begin to own my own niche! :-)

This book is full of useful and highly relevant resources that captures the essence of what is required to significantly raise your profile and dominate your niche. I found it really easy to read and felt inspired by Stephanie as she has clearly followed her own advice.

Some of the younger chaps at the West Penge Conservative Culb were recently discussing the influence of this German philosopher chappy Niche on current party policy. Feeling somewhat out of my depth amidst talk of the Apollonian and Dionysian dichotomy, I decided to invest in this volume in the hope that it would allow me to hold my own in any future debate. Alas, there was very little about his views on the death of God and the übermensch. I was, however, amazed that a fellow who died in 1900 could have foreseen so much about the power of the internet and viral marketing techniques. He must have been some sort of superman.

Excellent Advice that is Easy to Act On 23 May 2014
By MAT - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
If you have read a lot of books on marketing already some of what you may read here duplicates that, but most people forget so reading it again serves as a reminder. In addition, no two authors will ever have the same take on piece of advice and that is the case here. For example, Stephanie included some suggestions for how to use post cards that I had not seen anywhere else and it was very helpful. Let's face it, the amount of material written on direct mail marketing can reach the stratosphere so finding a different twist on it can be challenging, but she did it.

The book is packed with a lot of great short concise nuggets of information that is easy to quickly absorb and put into practice. In addition, she does a phenomenal job of digging up a lot of really great resources and including their web addresses as well as explaining what the service is and her own personal experience with using it, which I really liked. I thought the resource lists was one of the most valuable pieces of the book.

Finally, Stephanie writes in a style that lives up to her title of not being over the top hype. You really get the feeling as you read that she is a small business owner that has made both mistakes and successes; learned from them and is sharing that advice with you in a plain straightforward non-hype way. This is especially true in the online marketing section. This is very refreshing given the amount of hype that can show up on marketing web sites and books. This book is well worth the read and I promise you will walk away with multiple ideas to use in your own small business.

The way to have real small business success... 25 Feb. 2012
By Denise O'Berry - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The author has hit the nail on the head with this one. In each chapter she details things you can do to make sure you get closer to owning your niche. In this no hype, detailed book, Stephanie shares exactly what will work for you to move your business ahead. I've known Stephanie (though not in person) since the early 2000s and have always found her advice for small business owners to be solid. You can't go wrong if you follow it. What I also really like about this book is that each chapter ends with an interview from a successful entrepreneur. Not only do you get the author's wise advice, but you also get advice from those who have been there and done that. If you are searching for help in your small business, this book would be a good choice for you.

Yay Stephanie! 26 Sept. 2012
By beckye - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I have Own Your Niche from Stephanie Chandler and love it! She is a perfect person to give this advice because she really knows her stuff and can "sell" it in a concise manner. I participated in a webinar she gave and she stays on task when giving instruction/information orally as well. If you get a chance I highly recommend both the book and any webinar or series she offers!
