Book Description

Stressed out? Anxious? Overwhelmed? Good news—you’re not alone!

No one ever said life was going to be easy. Between financial struggles, marital issues, health scares, and the regular, run-of-the-mill problems of everyday life, it’s easy to feel weighed down and trapped by your circumstances. In times like these, it’s tempting to just throw in the towel and quit. Well, don’t do it!

Perry Noble has stood at the edge of the abyss himself, and in Overwhelmed, he shares the keys to unlocking the chains of anxiety and despair once and for all. Building on the premise that when we shift our focus from our circumstances to Christ, everything changes, Perry walks readers through a life-altering plan for overcoming stress, worry, depression, and anxiety so we can be free to enjoy the abundant, joy-filled lives we were created for.

God knows we’re frustrated. He knows we’re tired. He knows we’re struggling. But He also knows how things are going to turn out. He is greater than anything you are going through . . . so don’t give up on God. After all, He’s never given up on you.

I really enjoyed this book. Perry Noble gives some great insight in to how to deal with life when everything just seems to be overwhelming. His writing style has lots of humour but the book is very thought provoking at the same time.

For anyone who feels like life is getting on top of them and are overwhelmed, I highly recommend this book. It will challenge you to face your difficulties and overcome them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm! 4 Jan. 2015

Some good advice, but at times a little patronizing. Not sure his own examples are real or whether he made them up to tell the story. I also think he lost his way and forgot the book was about being overwhelmed. I do like the way he explained the theory behind some of the Old Testament books, particularly Daniel and Job. I could have done with reading this book a couple of years ago when I studied Divinity. But in respect of worry I am not totally convinced.

This book really opened my eyes, especially to the story of Daniel and Nebucanezzah. Its well crafted and really makes you rethink the implications of the stories. To get something from a story you've heard 28million times before is quite a feat.
