Definitely Sensational,

While some may dislike the duet genre, this one works for me. Sam sounds better than he's done for a while, attacking his songs again, and his co-artists participate enthusiastically. Particular highlights for me were 'Ain't no love', 'Together we are strong' and 'Don't play that song'. In time I think it will come to be seen as a significant album of the decade.

Given all the soul legends lost this past year alone every fan of classic soul singers should own this album and even pass it as gifts to others. Sam Moore has been undervalued as a solo artist for most of his career...fact is, if you listen to his classic hits you realize Dave was not a good singer at all...it was Sam Moore...and this album, while it has many guests, the vocals that stand out and stand up are all Sam Moore...those guests apparently wanted to give him enough high profile names to finally get our attention...so done...where is the promotion for this album? what's with the record label? this album is brilliant...find it, buy it...I am glad I did.

What a missed opportunity,

I looked forward to this release more than anything for ages. This guy is a legend, and having seen his occasional appearances over the years, I know he's still got it. This album is just cashing in on the celebrity duet craze, though - it's over produced plastic pop from one end to the other. I'm seriously disappointed.
