I've read and enjoyed a number of Karen Foley's books, but this one was disappointing in comparison. The location, circumstances, and descriptions of the movie production are not always believable, and the notion that the best way for an actress to accurately perform a sex scene is to sleep with the guy on whom the film is based borders on offensive. Though the author frequently describes the impressive physical attributes of Garrett Stokes, I had trouble accepting him as the 'hero' because his longtime infatuation with Ivy James is almost stalker-like, and he has no problem with taking her to bed under false pretenses. When Garrett's deception finally comes to light, Ivy's swift and eager forgiveness is disappointing and completely unrealistic. Ms. Foley has written a number of good stories; this, unfortunately, is not one of them.
