Real-life couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn star in this enjoyable 1987 comedy by Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman) about an imperious heiress (Hawn) who loses her memory after a boating accident and is identified as the wife of a handyman (Russell). Russell's character brings her "home" to his messy house and unruly kids and the laughs follow as the aristocratic Hawn tries fitting in. Marshall delivers the comic goods, the leads are entertaining (Russell needs to do more comedy) and the supporting cast is made up of happily familiar faces, including Roddy McDowall, Edward Herrmann, and Marshall favourite Hector Elizondo in an unbilled bit part. --Tom Keogh

The concept and the plot lines were funny and unique. The contrast between the working family and the ultra rich one, the ending where she chooses to have a life where she makes a difference instead of just wasting time, and he values her as she deserves to be valued in the end. There are parts of the movie that could have been better; some of the supporting roles were not done all that well. The rich woman's mother was great, Roddy McDowell was great, and the rich self-centered husband was funny. The movie was good family entertainment. Good for you, Goldie and Kurt.

This is the sort of film that would have starred Doris Day and Rock Hudson in the 50's.
Goldie and Kurt do a grand job, the kids are monsters - but them so are all kids!
I still laugh now when I think of some of the one liners. If you need cheering up and want some good old fashioned entertainment then look no further, Overboard is for you.

It is probably one of these movies you might think you have seen million of times already. And although the story is kind of predictable it still is nice to watch. Not alone due the great chemestry between Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn is worth looking at, but also how Goldies character changes from über-posh and spoilt brat to down to earth and loving wife...A true classic

I am no expert when it comes to evaluating noise and grain but this blu-ray transfer is very poor. There are some scenes which give the impression of HD but mainly its like someone burned the blu-ray from a VHS tape not a master tape.
Although a USA import which clearly states on the cover that it's a Region A disc, I have no problem playing it on a Region B laptop player. I had read this on another website before purchasing it.
Audio: English 2.0 Surround DTS-HD Master Audio, Spanish Mono, French Dolby Surround.
Suntitles; Englsh/Spanish/French
Runtime: 112 mins
Widescreen 1.85:1

A very funny film from start to finish. Both Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell can be seen at their comedy best in this film. It portrays life within both the rich and poor status fantastically whilst giving laughs along the way. Great family film for all ages and a real classic. NOT ONE TO BE MISSED!

A snobbish woman (Goldie Hawn) berates a carpenter (Kurt Russell) that was hired to build an "Imelda Marcos" type shoe rack for her boat. Of course she does not pay. Later she falls overboard and gets amnesia Naturally the carpenter takes advantage of this in a unique way. At first it it's fun; then love sets in. Will she ever regain her memory and them what? In the meantime what is her hubby up to?

It was great for its time and it still is. A definate classic that is still good today. Its funny and of course Goldie Hawn is a superb actress, suited for her comedic presence.

Brilliant film
Love this film. DVD is good quality and all as advertised. Glad I bought it. If you haven't seen it and like comedy and romance, buy it!

Fun film
I love Mel Gibson when he does comedy, and goldie Hawn is also great as the amnesiac desperate to fit in with a lifestyle she basically can't comprehend. Read more

I just never get tired of looking at this movie every five years. Definitely a favorite - especially if you love Goldie Hawn like I do. She has starred in so many memorable films.
