Meet Colby Lane, the Long, Tall Texan Diana Palmer’s fans have been clamoring for—a man who is larger than life, and twice as exciting. The New York Times bestselling author delivers to readers a thrilling story set against the rugged, ever-changing south Texas landscape. Former black ops CIA operative Colby Lane, now retired from his wild years as a mercenary, has found his new calling as assistant chief of security for the mammoth Ritter Oil Corporation. But the past is never far behind. He’s soon enmeshed in plans to trap a notorious drug trafficker, and it seems that his ex-wife, Sarina Carrington—whom he so cruelly left after one day of marriage—may be more involved than she’s letting on. Not only that, but Sarina has a six-year-old dark-eyed daughter whose father is mysteriously absent—or is he? “Nobody does it better! ” —New York Times bestselling author Linda Howard

5.0 out of 5 stars Diana Palmer is the best 10 July 2006
Format:Hardcover
I've just finished this book, talk about it has everything in it action, mystery, intrigue, past wrong doings, new and old passion. Diana does know how to put a book together I just could not put the book down. This book is going to be a hit like all her other books. I love that she takes you back to see how other characters from past book are doing. Diana all I can say I love your books

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but definitely not her best 21 July 2006
By ROROBLU'S MUM TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE VOICE

Lawless was lame, but I persisted with DP hardbacks & bought Renegade, which renewed my faith in her. I then bought Before Sunrise, which was forgettable, but I thought that as Colby Lane's book has been so long in the making, and he's featured so much in other books that it had to be great. Well, big disappointment. Apparently he gets the heroine pregnant on the night of their forced marriage (he takes her, she just lies there, and he realises this, but has only very little regret) and she gets pregnant from that one episode & the marriage gets annulled. He marries someone else, the love of his life, who betrays him & he's never thought of the heroine in all of this time until she turns up at his new job. He's ill, she's sponging him down & without a word they have a quickie in the shower, and another a bit later. There are no admissions of love & the book focuses more on other LTT characters, who are just name-dropped regularly, with backgrounds, which takes up a lot of the book. It seems that this book was written just to conclude the arrest of Cara & pulling the plug on the Lopez drug cartel, both of which featured in another book (forgettable too). I wish I'd waited for the paperback to come out, as I would have saved myself a lot of money on a mediocre book. I was a die-hard fan, and I have already reserved her Sep06 LTT paperback, but I will certainly NOT be buying another hardback. Too much hype - I wonder what DP thinks of this, as similar comments have been made on the chat section of her own website. Do youyrselves a favour and wait for the paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent !!!!! 15 July 2006
Format:Hardcover
Former black ops CIA operative Colby Lane, now retired from his wild years as a mercenary, has found his new calling as assistant chief of security for the mammoth Ritter Oil Corporation. All he wants is a new start. What he discovers, though, is that the past is never far behind. Colby is soon enmeshed in plans to trap a notorious drug trafficker, and it seems that his ex-wife, Sarina Carrington -- whom he so cruelly left after one day of marriage -- may be more involved than she's letting on. Not only that, but Sarina has a six-year-old dark-eyed daughter whose father is mysteriously absent -- or is he?

Diana Palmer fans have been waiting for sometime for Colby Lane's Book. It took me just 2 days to read this book I could not put it down so you won't be disappointed. Read this book and find out yourselves.

5.0 out of 5 stars DIANA PALMER DOES IT AGAIN 10 July 2006
Format:Hardcover
I was given this book as a gift and could not wait to read it. Talk about not being disappointed I was not. Diana Palmer has to be one of the best authors around, her books hold you from the first page to the last. They offer you romance, action, heartache and lots of chemistry between the Hero and the Heroine. If Diana put a book out every month I would be one of the first in the line to buy it. Diana don't stop your books bring joy to millions of fans.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Outsider 27 May 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback
DP on top form. As ever delivering fun, tension, fast moving & gripping plot, likeable characters and all the rest (and yes I am a die hard DP fan)! For those building a DP library & wanting to avoid duplicates hero is Colby Lane (about time we had his story) & heroine is Sarina Carrington. Book also features Philip Hunter & a few other characters we have met in DP past books. Happy reading.
