It's a very simple cover to fit, especially as it can stay on when the tap is in use. I've given it four stars instead of five as I think it has a slight design flaw. The seam (or split in the fabric) is on the upper side of the cover. Therefore, any rain falling could find its way into the cover which could then freeze. It's a minor point but the split seam would be better on the underside.

I bought two of these insulating tap covers as all the others just looked like covering bags and the tap could be used whilst this cover was in place. They're very fiddly to fit, requiring lots of trimming and the retaining clips are very small with very sharp points, needing assistance from a piece of twine to hold the item closed properly. They are not for the faint-hearted and certainly not recommended for older folks with arthritic hands. Also, as another reviewer said, the opening is in the top of the cover which will allow water to seep in and freeze - a flawed design not given enough thought.

Having purchased this item before Christmas I finally got to fit it the other day. The polystyrene split rendering the item useless. I have emailed the seller and hope to get a refund. I don't want a replacement!

This universal cover does the job fairly well even if it is a bit fidley to fit. Just make sure you have a good sharp Stanley blade and proceed with caution.

This insulated external tap cover has been so valuable over the past months with all the cold weather we have been having. We have also still been able to use the tap by just removing the bottom cap, no frozen outside tap. Bargain!

A good basic product, made out of pipe lagging. Took only a little effort to fit, and only because the feed pipe was not coming straight out of the wall but running along it for a few inches! Poly caps look as though they will last.

Not sure why previous reviewers had trouble fitting - it took me less than 10 mins including time to shave a bit off the back to fit the length of my pipe. Also, the clips supplied hold the seam together tightly enough for it to be unlikely water would seep in. Time will tell if it does the job but see no reason why it shouldn't. Excellent product and good value.

Do not buy one of these insualting outside tap covers at all. They fit very poorly indeed and make daily use of the tap virtually immpossible. Although not expensive they are a complete waste of money.DO NOT BUY
