Although it's been a few decades since the walks were drawn and described, they are still very accurate.
The walks in this book are good if you don't have much time, such as a winter's afternoon when the night draws in quick. It also has peaks which while are not too challenging to ascend, give a great view and so are very rewarding and worthwhile.
As with all of Wainwright's other books, the maps are of superb detail and accuracy and the descriptions which accompany them are witty but also informative.
This is probably my favourite of the Wainwright books. It allows me to introduce people who aren't keen on an epic lakeland walk to get a taste of what Cumbria has to offer.

This map is in-vaulable to me i take my car and go walking but unlike other maps this is more detailed and shows all the parking places, really good and reccommended

outlaying fell of lakeland
Brilliant addition to the seven pictorial guides, a must for any Wainwright fan!! espeacially the updated version where all main paths are dictated in red.

how to use this book
Lovely drawings in this book and it's a privilege to see Wainwright's work but as a walker I didn't find it helpful- an os map of the area is probably more use.

Wainwright's Low Lying Fell Walks
A very useful review addition to the Wainwright Lake District fell books. There are some absolutely delightful lower level hill walks in and on the fringes of the Lakes. Read more

A Superb Book
I found this book an entertaining and interesting read. It is an excellent walking guide. This is my personal favourite of Wainwrights guides. Highly recommended.
