I'd already read Contagion by Robin Cook, and thought I'd have a go at this. The story (I found) was pretty similar to contagion, and I enjoyed it. However I had figured out who the baddie was long before the end, I don't think this is the authors fault, but mine since all i read is who dunnit type stories! Easy to read, not too much terminology to understand. All in all an enjoyable read.

In Outbreak Cook builds around the totally realistic prospect of some new form of plague hitting us when we least expect it. In his unique style Cook manages not to bring out the shear fear such an outbreak would bring, but also hit on the diverse interests and bureaucratic stalemate politics that may be (and in reality very often are)involved. In my view, Cook excels in giving a very good, realistic, approach to the story.
