5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent children book 9 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a book my four years old son truly loves, and every time we are finished reading it we end up in long conversations about animals and our next trip to the zoo. The pictures and the texts are just perfect for this age so I warmly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful children's picture book 9 Sep 2012
By ngaire
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I was attracted to this book by its bright and original cover. The content is equally as impressive - the story is super and the lovely, clear images encouraged questions from my 3 year old. The large print is spot-on, and this will be one of the books I'll use to help him with his reading. The book is a great size to take 'Out and About' with you. Will certainly be buying more in this little series for my son and for gifts.

4.0 out of 5 stars A two-year old's review 14 Jun 2012
By PeteAbela - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I enlisted some help from my daughter who turns three next month to write this review.

After reading "Out and About at the Zoo," to her, I asked if she liked the book. Her response: "I YOVE it." (she can't pronounce "L's" very well yet but you get the drift).

My daughter summed up everything you need to know and there's not much more to add to her comment. Jo's book is fun with cleverly rhyming text and is brightly illustrated. Your littlies will love "Out and About at the Zoo."

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the Grandkids! 31 May 2012
By Jan Verhoeff - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a fun, short book for the grandkids! If you love reading to your children or grandchildren, this book will become a family favorite quite fast. The simple wording and bright interaction of characters makes it easy for very young readers and exciting for toddlers still listening.

Jo puts some serious thought into toddler reactions and includes those in the book. My favorite part was the last page, because my toddlers decided immediately that we needed to take a trip to the Denver Zoo. "Yay!!! I get to see the elephants!" (Okay, that part was ME not them. But they get to go too.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book for Kids! 17 Aug 2012
By Victoria Marshal - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
As a mom I can tell you there is no better compliment to a children's book than to have your child say, "read it again" when you finish reading a book. This is exactly what happened when I finished reading Out and About at the Zoo to my 3-year-old.

The story is a short one and I'm sure from the title you can guess what it's about. My little one couldn't get enough of the friendly, illustrated animals that inhabit Ms. Linsdell's zoo. Unlike some illustrated children s books that look like they're trying to win a modern art prize; Ms. Linsdell's illustrations are very approachable for children. The story is uncomplicated, which makes it easy for younger readers to follow along.

Overall, Out and About at the Zoo is a fun read for kids, which makes it priceless for this mom. ~V

5.0 out of 5 stars Its all Happening at the Zoo 12 Jun 2012
By Bennet Pomerantz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I review many books. When I see a children's picture book, I tend to savor the artistic way the writer and the artist tend to mesh. Sometimes its the blending that makes a simple child's book something really worth reading.

Out and About at the Zoo is a combination of the artist and the writer being the same person Jo Linsdell. She crafted a very cute and adorable children's volume. This simple children's book with bright colors of animals from the zoo is crisp in it poetic delivery. The art sparkles in its simple characters of the zoo animals.

Ms Linsdell seems to know her target audience and gives them a bright a images for them to enjoy. These young children will delight in this books rhythms that come from its verses and art. It is a good book to give for those young and young at heart.
