Product Description

Stephanie Lawry has an unsuitable fiance, claustrophobia, and a disquieting rash...

Jack Redmond tries hard to be a good father to his children despite his ex-wife's attitude problem, and his mistakenly-gained drunken-perv reputation.

Add in Steph's bolshie parents, Jack's too-bright children, an old lover, a couple of rescued dogs, and a manky polar bear, and it's no wonder the games people play get out of hand.

Will Steph learn the rules of the relationship game in time to win Jack, or are the stakes too high?

Katie Fforde (best-selling rom com author and President of the Romantic Novelists' Association) said of 'All His Own Hair': 'Susan Alison handles difficult issues with quirky humour and uplifting results.'

Jill Mansell (best-selling rom com author) said of 'White Lies and Custard Creams': "Susan Alison has written a lovely, quirky romp packed with off-the-wall characters - original, intriguing and great fun!"

(To give you some idea of length - 'White Lies and Custard Creams' is 83,700 words long and 'All His Own Hair' is 87,300 words long. Out from Under the Polar Bear is 95,000 words long.)

More About the Author

Susan Alison paints pictures and writes stories for a living, and her cafetiere is always hot.

Dogs tend to enter into the pictures, and the prose, quite a lot, Susan living under the paw as she does.

Monty and Rosie (and Jeff-Dog now, too) are her Border Collies - they keep an eye on her artwork to make sure she keeps earning kibble, and every now and then they round it up and post it to her artwork blog.

There are more romantic comedies on the way, but in the meantime some illustrated doggerel books are going to put in an appearance - the first being 'The Corgi Games' to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee and The Olympics this year.

Jill Mansell (internationally best-selling author) said of 'White Lies and Custard Creams': "Susan Alison has written a lovely, quirky romp packed with off-the-wall characters - original, intriguing and great fun!"

Katie Fforde (best-selling rom com author and President of the Romantic Novelists' Association) said of 'All His Own Hair': 'Susan Alison handles difficult issues with quirky humour and uplifting results.'

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! 5 July 2013
By rosie

I have read all Susan's books and was waiting with baited breath for this one to come out, I was not disappointed. This was my favourite out of her books so far, it was full of the usual humour but also has a deeper side covering issues not usually talked about in 'romantic comedies'
I would recommend it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars More fun from Susan Alison 5 July 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I expected this book to be another quirky tale from Susan's wonderful imagination. Instead it was a much more thought provoking story. Still fun, still full of wonderful characters, but with issues addressed that were quite pertinent to modern life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 14 Aug 2013

A good story with lots of characters which all link together well to create a plot filled with romance, excitement and a happy ending and a few tense bits in the story. Especially loved the title, this was what lured me into buying the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect summer read 10 Aug 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Great fun...I'd highly recommend this lovely story to all lovers of romantic fiction. Susan Alison manages to get down to the nitty-gritty of our insecurities in all our knotty human relationships...(oh and doggy relationships) and unravel them with both sensitivity and humour. I was really curious about the polar bear storyline, especially because of the brilliantly curious cover illustration. He slots in seamlessly along with all the other eccentric, quirky or otherwise dysfunctional characters in this sweet tale.
