What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?
Jack Hargreaves presents this series of expeditions through the idyllic English countryside, exploring the nature of country life, the importance and variety of rural economies and age-old country skills. In this volume, Jack looks at cod fishing, charcoal burners, pigeon shooting, and the long-distance ride.
This particular TV programme from yesteryear has always been one of my favourites. No doubt it is a fvourite everywhere.I already had a few of the Dvds but not no. 9 so it was with some pleasure that I found it on Amazon and bought it.Jack Hargreaves, unfortunately no longer with us,is one of the most interesting people that has ever been on television and the Dvds of, Out of Town ,give me a great deal of pleasure .Indeed for someone of my mature years they take me back to a more innocent world.
Jack Hargreaves' easy, laid back style and immense pool of knowledge coupled with a film crew that made you feel like you were right there in his workshop with him, make this series irresistible. No matter which subject he chooses it is always interesting when HE talks about it. When you think about it, television is just about as far removed from the whole ethos of the world he so intimately portrays to us as you could get. Thankfully there are good quality records of his forays of into those little corners of England and funnily enough Spain, for us to look back on and enjoy. Yes we know they are right on the outer fringes of value for money sometimes but well, that i'm afraid is life.
Those of you familiar with Jack Hargreaves' material will need no introduction to this DVD which exemplifies some the best of his work. Very watchable.
