3.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful story but seriously marred by typos 27 Jun 2012
By DebbieB
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a fantastic, romantic story about a couple who meet after he time travels to our present day. The storyline was excellent and I would have loved this book if it were not for the many typos and other errors in the script.
Just to mention a few - 'when the cottage was became visible', 'the beams were still in tact', 'internationally reknown computer criminal', 'There're be quite a few more pages...', 'Had the they recovered the money', 'I tired to place them'.
This sort of thing may not be noticed by a majority of readers but a large minority will be seriously irked by it. I know from glancing at the US reviews that other readers have commented on it. Why has the author not taken note and withdrawn the book for a re-edit? Such a shame because this ruins an otherwise excellent book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Moving Romance with Plenty of Suspence 12 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When I read the other reviews on this book I was expecting to get a heavy handed history lesson, but as I write time travel romance too I wanted to see what this author did with the subject. I was hooked from the first page when her dead cat is buried. It was warm, witting and very quirky. And it stayed that way throughout, with the history acting as background to the mystery and not distracting from the central love story at all.
I liked the way the protagonists were so relaxed with each other, bickering almost from the first moment they meet. Not so much from sexual tension, but as long lost friends do when settling back into a relationship after time apart. That was very well done. And I came to really like this couple and dreaded what I knew was coming.
I will definitely look for more books by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read with an unusual storyline 12 Feb 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Interesting subject matter, and as the previous reviewer says it is a cross between a history lesson and a romance. I would also add a geography lesson too, as I looked up the locations in Google Earth and learnt a lot out the fascinating Outer Banks area of North Carolina. However, although this added to my enjoyment the story stands on its own merits as a very enjoyable read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mix of past and present. 13 July 2014

A beautiful story which I thoroughly enjoyed. Normally I would find aspects of the plot completely unbelievable , however this book was written in such a way that I went with it and loved it.

4.0 out of 5 stars a good read 9 Jun 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got this book for free, but it did not spoil my enjoyment of a rattling good story! Just to clarify, there were no typos or other mistakes in my copy... Anyway, this timeslip novel deals with a woman, Kathy Lee, on the brink of divorce with two children to care for. She flees to the family cottage for some alone time. Then she encounters the dashing Robert... an English soldier from the War... of Independence. I won't give any more of the plot away, but this is not the usual pedestrian romantic fare, and is an informative and well written novel. The characters really come to life, you find yourself rooting for them with every turn of the page and I just really enjoyed every minute. Recommended - I will certainly be looking out for more by this talented writer!
