Kee Marcello achieves a unique feat on this record: he actually makes his guitar sing. Now, a guitarist making a guitar `sing' is common parlance in heavy rock for good play, but I'm talking literally here. Listen to Let the Good Times Rock or the solo to Superstitious and tell me that guitar is not singing to you. It's a decent enough follow-up to The Final Countdown, not quite as memorable and 1988 keyboards do sound inevitably dated. There's the straight ahead rockers, Coast to Coast's a keyboard awashed attempt at an epic ballad, and Joey Tempest must have been watching Top Gun a lot back in the day as anyone who listens to the cringeworthy Tower's Callin' will attest. Bottom line is that the guitar work is too good for this to be ignored if you liked The Final Countdown.
