Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are reunited in this hysterically funny high seas romantic adventure. Gambler and con artist Charlie (Walter Matthau) is desperate to meet single, rich ladies with large bank accounts. When he persuades his lonely widower brother-in-law, Herb (Jack Lemmon), into accompanying him on a pleasure cruise, he neglects to mention that they will be working as dance hosts and masquerading as wealthy bachelors. Much to Herb's chagrin, their accommodations are in the bowels of the high-class ship, and they are forced to work for hilariously tyrannical cruise director, Gil Godwyn (Brent Spiner).

IF YOU LIKE WALTER MATTHAU AND JACK LEMON THIS IS A REALLY GOOD AND FUNNY FILM TO WATCH. (NO SWEARING IN IT AT ALL)

I BOUGHT GRUMPY OLD MEN FIRST AND THIS FILM WAS RECOMMENDED BY AMAZON AND SOOOOO GLAD THAT I PURCHASED THIS DVD.

WELL WORTH WATCHING.

This film is a must for fans of Matthau and Lemon. It's not 'The Odd Couple', but neither was 'Odd Couple 2'. M & L bounce off each other amusingly and the whole thing is the equivalent of eating comfort food. An extra is the inclusion in the cast of Donald O'Connor still dancing when this was made in 1997. What's not to like? Let it roll over you like a pleasant rolling type thingy.

Maybe not the best of the Matthau/Lemmon films but still very funny, as Walter Matthau gets straight man Jack Lemon into all sorts of trouble when he fools him into becoming a dance host on a cruise liner, in the hope of picking up a rich widow.

Bret Spiner's (Data in "Star Trek Next Generation")supporting role as host director trying to gain promotion and get Matthau to actually dance, is superb and shows off his comic side very well.

Again not as good as "The Odd Couple", but running alongside "Grumpy Old Men" and its' follow on "Grumpier Old Men" this film is well worth a watch

This is brilliant! And so nice to see Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau together. I found it really funny and a good story too. Odd Couple 2 is another gem.
If you Lemmon and Matthau, then you will probably love this.

A gentle comedy starring Hollywood veterans Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau in another enjoyable romp, this time on a cruise ship. As stated elsewhere in previous reviews, this is no "The Odd Couple", but then, nothing is in my opinion - that is my all-time favourite comedy.

There is a great supporting cast including Donald "Singing In The Rain" O'Connor. In fact, I thought the writers could have given him a bigger part to showcase his humour and dancing (remember the "Make 'Em Laugh" scene in the aforestated film? ) I know he was a lot younger then but he could still have had a more prominent part in "Out To Sea." Good to see him nonetheless.

In a nutshell, good reliable performances all round and a reminder of real Hollywood talent that no longer exists.

Exactly as expected, a cheery, cheesy romp with two talented old guys just having a ball. Good looking locations, some very funny cameo parts from equally talented people and music to hum along to. Settle down on a wet afternoon with a full English tea and enjoy. Save the out-takes for a special giggle. Super.

I already had this film on VHS video tape and wanted a copy on a DVD.
Lovely, gentle and funny film with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau on top form again.
