Super Circles is a great card game. It's easy for everyone to play - young and old - and quickly gets everyone laughing. The rules are simple. You play by matching a coloured circle which is in the same position as the card already placed on the table. It's a race to be the first to play all your cards and everyone plays together replenishing their hand from their own draw pile at will. When playing a card you call out the number of the ring you are matching. It's a lot of fun and only takes a couple of minutes to complete. It's great for teaching youngsters both colour co-ordination and speed and because it comes in it's own little tin it's brilliant for taking out and about anywhere you go.

Super Circles really is a lot of fun.

Super Circles - a super card game for the whole family 8 Dec 2009
By Bernard Dekoven - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
Super Circles is another easy-to-learn, quick (and I mean quick) card game from Out of the Box (in this instance, a lovely metal box) that will challenge the speed, spatial and color perception skills of 2 to 4 players, pretty much extremely.

Each of the 73 cards shows 4 concentric rings, each of a different color. The rings are numbered (to guide the mind as well as the eye), but the game has nothing to do with numbers and everything to do with your ability to perceive which of the 4 rings on any given card matches the same ring on another.

The game begins with the distribution of the cards. The first card is turned over and placed in the center of the table, face-up, starting the target pile (the cards looking everso graphically target-like). The rest of the cards are distributed evenly, face down, between the players, forming their play pile. At a signal from the dealer, players begin to draw cards from their deck, competing to be the first to find a card whose ring matches the corresponding ring on the card on the top of the target pile. At each turn, players must match a ring that is different than the last ring matched. If the first player matches, for example, the second ring of the current target card, players then compete to match the first, third or fourth ring of the new card.

The first player to run out of all but one cards wins the game.

The visual challenge, combined with the need for speed, can easily become so intense that, from time to time, your mind just refuses to keep up. This feels better than it sounds - like a shiatsu massage for your perceptual skills.

Super Circles is an elegant, challenging little card game, demanding brief spurts of very intense focus. Designed by Maureen Hiron and Ron and Caron Bodkin, with art by John Kovalic and Cathleen Quinn-Kinney, it turns out to provide a unique challenge, one that will prove as engaging to a seven-year-old (no arithmetic, no spelling, no knowledge required other than color and the numbers 1-4) as to a parent or grandparent of renown visual acuity and acknowledged color-discrimination skills.

It is difficult to avoid comparing Super Circles to 7 ate 9 - another Major Fun Award-winning card game, also from Out of the Box, also designed by Maureen Hiron. The only significant difference between the two games is the part of the brain they tease into action. 7 ate 9 plays with numbers, so it leans left on the brainscape. Super Circles plays with colors, so it feels more rightwards leaning. For this reason, Super Circles can be played successfully by slightly younger children. But by no measure can we say that one game is better or more fun than the other. Though we might not play both of them in the same game session, our family games collection would certainly be richer for having both of these games.

Visual Discrimination Challenge 17 Mar 2010

Verified Purchase Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
As an Educational Therapist I am always looking for fun games that target a client's particular challenge.

Super Circles has you match one of the 4 circles' color. The child's attention is kept and visual discrimination is strengthened.

My kids run Circles around me! 30 Sep 2011
By Carolyn K. of Hoagies' Gifted Education Page - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
The kids run Circles around me in Super Circles! Quick to learn for even the youngest players, all you have to do is match a ring of color on your card to the target card. Sounds simple, right? But beware, you can't match the same ring the last player matched, and you're racing all the other players to play the next card and change the rings to match. Fun with two players, it gets wilder with each player you add.

Flexible thinking is required... I think this is the kids' advantage. Great for exercising a different bit of your brain, and having lots of fast-paced fun where being the adult doesn't help!

Great game for quick fun! 30 Aug 2011

I am the mother of an only child and have been forced to play many many games but this is one I always say yes to. My seven year old and I LOVE this game. Fast paced but easy to comprehend. We laugh after every game. Colors are great, cards easy to read, and we love the metal boxes that Out of the Box puts their card games in. This game, in its neat little tin, goes on every trip with us, to be played at every destination.
Super Circles is Super fun! 4 Aug 2014
By My Geeklings - Published on Amazon.com
Super Circles is a fast paced quick thinking matching game that is great for adults and kids alike. It is a race to play all the cards in your personal deck by matching a Circle color and number to the last card played but you can’t say the same number twice in a row. This game tests your quick thinking skills and is so much fun!

Super Circles is meant for 2-4 players and has several of my favorite features in a game. It is portable (easily fits in a pocket) in this convenient little card deck sized tin, quick to play so perfect for doctor office waiting rooms, educational and tons of fun! I think that might be all of my favorite features in one game.

The tin is fairly durable but it is a metal tin so I imagine it could be dented if you are not careful. The cards themselves are your typical playing cards material. If you have a child that rips things maybe they shouldn’t be alone with this game but otherwise pretty safe in the hands of kids.
