Biography

Dip a toe or two into The Asteroid Galaxy Tour’s debut album, and your mind will conjure up images of downtown Memphis in Outer Space, with a singing siren floating past in a levitating rolltop bath.
Maybe we shouldn’t crush your illusions, but the less than spectacular reality looks more like a tiny studio flat in the Danish capital Copenhagen, where Lars Iversen and Mette ... Read more in Amazon's The Asteroids Galaxy Tour Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Funky Psychadelic Pop is back!! 11 Feb 2012
By Mazza!
Format:Audio CD
I love this album from The Asteroids!! You can hear the theme of old-time spy movies mixed in with 1960's pop, it's just brilliant and cool! In fact, it's so brilliant, that I think you should stop reading my review and just buy it!!
Top tracks to check out: "When It Comes To Us", "Ghost In My Head", "Theme From 45 Eugenia", "Out Of Frequency" and "Dollars In The Night"!

5.0 out of 5 stars more awesome than a really really awesome thing 31 May 2012
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I heard Major on Radcliffe and Maconey , and decided to buy the album just on the strength of that and I am not regretting it. This is a fantastic album! Its really the one album that you probably won't be told is the album to buy, but it actually is. Its funky, luscious vocals, quality horn section and just damn good songs that have been really well produced. It's been a while since I got an album that I want to keep listening to and I think this could it. I mean I really need to go and see this done live, which I haven't had the feeling of since the mars volta.

4.0 out of 5 stars If it wasn't for the womans voice 22 Feb 2014
By Paul
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
this would have got 5 well deserved stars, everything else is wonderful, especially taken with the wonderful brass which harks back to 60's TV theme tunes with their aggressive stabbing accompaniment. The production is slick, the playing masterful, arrangements with light and shade so much to enjoy, but for the woman's vocals which I find just a bit to grating after prolonged exposure. But for all that it is getting lots of play as on the whole it provides so much to listen to and oh that brass is so so good.

5.0 out of 5 stars For those days when you need to get smacked in the face by a sassy Danish pop band. 31 Jan 2012
By Storylover - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Imagine an over the top Brigitte Bardot cum Goldfrapp married to a funktastic acid pop cherry limeaid Earth Wind and Fire, throw in a dash of Prince's moxy, ABBA's pop instincts, and filter through Belinda Carlisle's upper register, and you might get some idea of what to expect from this Scandanavian party bomb. Hip shaking beats with a sexy horn section spicing up spacey keyboards and slammin' bass is pretty much the recipe for the music. The vocals, sung by Mette Lindberg, are completely out of control, attitude turned up to 10. There is no subtlety here, merely adrenaline. This will be great driving music for summer, a perfect beach kiss off album, and perhaps the party album of the winter. If you can sit still during this record, you need to check your pulse. Unrelenting and uncompromising pop delight with an edge. Check it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars love it 15 Feb 2012
By Paul Tashman - Published on Amazon.com

I normally hate really poppy bands. But this one just shines! They've got so many good influences. While it's still a poppy, exciting, fantastic sound, it's also got some trippy influences from the 70s. Some of the brass sounds were reminiscent of king crimson and pink floyd to me. Her voice really adds a lot of surprises to this album too. She sounds like she really loves pulling tricks with all her crazy notes. Get this album! It's definitely worth $10 even if you're not really into pop like me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun pop album. 6 Sep 2012
By james gray - Published on Amazon.com

I usually listen to music ranging from John Coltrane to Nick Cave to Dead can Dance to John Mclaughlin but I also have an ear for fun loving pop from various punk bands and new wave bands from the late 70's and 80's to elctronica like the sterophonics or electralane (well they are not too much electronica but they have that feel). Asteroid Galaxy Tour reminds me of a cross between fun electronica and early 60's girls groups. The woman singing has such a unique voice that somehow works well with the quirky instrumentation backing her. The song Heart Attack or Suburban Space Invader are infectious. There are fewer weak tracks on this cd than on their first cd. In fact there really aren't any weak songs. The first 3 tracks are weaker than the rest and that is when the cd really kicks in as great driving or exercising or waking yourself up music. It always ends for me playing it twice. I can't say that about many pop albums. This is classic for pop music.A truely upbeat and fun recording. It will get you moving. It's infectious.

Very good music and good quality recording. AGT has improved on their own sound and style from their first release. If you like their other album you will not be disappointing with this one.
