Amazon.co.uk Review

Steven Seagal has always been an awkward action hero. Initially, he had a certain amount of credibility thanks to his nebulous association with secret government agencies and mastery of Aikido, which helped to excuse his bad acting. But as a self-righteous action hero in the vein of Schwarzenegger and Stallone, Seagal fell into unintentional self-parody faster and more dramatically than either of his two predecessors. In Out for Justice, Seagal plays Gino Felino, a Brooklyn-born cop known and respected by everyone--both good and bad--in his neighbourhood. The worst of the baddies is Richie Madano (William Forsythe), a crack-smoking killer who murders his partner and terrorises all. Technically, Felino is a terrible cop--touching evidence at murder scenes, stealing evidence, intimidating witnesses--but only by breaking those rules can he bring in this horrible criminal. As his soon-to-be-ex-wife discovers, he does everything because he cares too much. Julianna Margulies (ER) has a small but thankless role as Richie's hooker girlfriend, and Gina Gershon (Bound, Showgirls) has an equally thankless role as his foul-mouthed, bar-owning sister. --Andy Spletzer, Amazon.com

STEVEN SEAGAL plays a brooklyn cop,(GINO) and things go from bad to worse, when his partner is gunned down in broad daylight. To further complicate matters, GINO knows the assassin to be none other than former childhood pal RITCHIE (a very intense WILLIAM FORSYTH.) GINO swears revenge, and in the course of the night, will use any means to get RITCHIE, even if it means defying the mafia, or the law, for which he stands for. Trouble is, RITCHIE (now psychotic with drugs) is more than ready for the vengefull cop and is leaving a litter of dead bodies to lead him to his trail. OUT FOR JUSTICE is without doubt STEVEN SEAGALs finest moment on screen. The violence (some of it, stomach-churning) is nevertheless dispatched out to some worthy looking lowlifes. Action, thriller and of least all, martial arts fan will not be disapointed with this gritty urban thriller.

In this film Steven Seagal is a rookie cop (er...how many times have we seen him in this kind of role), who is spurred on in his search for JUSTICE by the death of his close friend. You see some excellent fight scenes which are probably the best I've seen Seagal do in a long time. The bad guy in this film is quite good as well and for most of film Seagal's main aim is to terrorise anyone who knows the whereaboouts of this psycho. For me it still doesn't beat his best film-Under Siege-but it's not bad. If you're a die hard Steven Seagal fan then you'll like this one!

At last I've managed to build my seagal collection and there all the U.S imported blu rays, meaning that I'm watching the full film and not the prints that have been subject to the B.B.F.C for editing. Can 100% guarantee that all Seagal films that are U.K edits DO NOT contain as much footage as the U.S un-cencored versions, and it's all the fighting scenes that have been watered down. This happens in all films that come into the U.K and is the main reason why I'll never buy films from this country......PS the films great by the way!!!
