5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I could think up these set-ups! 8 Nov 2010
By Pat Patton - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Lady Madeline has a small problem--she's just killed a man who tried to blackmail AND rape her--so she turns to Our Hero, a fellow with whom she shared a memorable one nighter a year ago. She doesn't like that he pulled a love 'em and leave 'em, she doesn't like that she hasn't been able to forget him, and she doesn't like that of all the people she knows--despite the foregoing--he's the one man she can trust to protect her in her hour of distress. And as for her hour of need... The signature Wildes heat does not disappoint, the plot has some wonderful twists, and the character's motivations regarding their growing physical and emotional intimacy are credible and well written. A real pleasure to read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unable to Finish 19 Oct 2010
By lovesbooks - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I tried, I really did, to finish "Our Wicked Mistake," thinking that if I just read a few more pages, it'd get more interesting. The characters are flat, indistinct, boring. Emma Wildes tries to ratchet up the suspense, but that doesn't work, mainly because the villain is not explored much. In the first 132 pages (as far as I got), we know that he has tried to blackmail the heroine and he has a brief scene where he makes sexually speculating comments about her to the hero. The second problem is that the other characters are vague and forgettable too. If you DO buy this, I hope you like it more than I did.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love the secondary love story 7 Nov 2010
By sarah stewart - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Luke Daudet is very attracted to Madeline May but will not allow himself to love her because of the tragic death of his first wife and child. Against his better judgement he allows himself to be seduced into an affair with Madeline. It is not until he nearly loses Madeline that he realises he cannot live without love. But by then...is it too late..?!

I have said it before...the trend with Emma Wildes' books is that I adore the secondary romance but find the main romance pretty average...this is the case with this book. The story of Elizabeth, the sister of Luke, who realises she loves her childhood friend, Miles, is sweet and passionate. In contrast, the story of Luke and Madeline is unbelievable. For the life of me, I just cannot believe that Madeline would be prepared to be ruined by an open affair with Luke. The story is just about sex...there is no connection or feeling of love despite the melodramatic conclusion to the story.

I would recommend this book, mostly because of Elizabeth and Miles, and I like this series, but it is not keeper.
