I tried, I really did, to finish "Our Wicked Mistake," thinking that if I just read a few more pages, it'd get more interesting. The characters are flat, indistinct, boring. Emma Wildes tries to ratchet up the suspense, but that doesn't work, mainly because the villain is not explored much. In the first 132 pages (as far as I got), we know that he has tried to blackmail the heroine and he has a brief scene where he makes sexually speculating comments about her to the hero. The second problem is that the other characters are vague and forgettable too. If you DO buy this, I hope you like it more than I did.
