I imagine this band will draw comparisons with Ida Maria due to their up-tempo tunes and slightly edgy sound, however, the only comparison that can be made between the two is nationality.
This is a valiant debut and contains all the right ingredients for a floaty summer relaxation session in the garden in the midst of summer. Unfortunately it lacks punch. The melodies are soft, the drums are up tempo and the vocals sound like the love child of Sia and Natalie Imbruglia. This album is definitely worth a listen if you like alternative pop like The Cardigans or Belle and Sebastian or even Vampire Weekend (not alternative pop). The single Run is excellent and hopefully something the band can capitalise on in their next album. Unfortunately it all gets a bit samey and boring after a while. I gave this album 4 stars to even the review rating to 3 and a half!
Give it a listen but don't expect it to change your life.
