I bought this for my 1st grand-daughter. it makes a beautiful present and the hard cover helps to protect the book. There are plenty of pages to record information and is appropriate for single parents as does not ask for partners contributions too much.
The only downside is that you can record so much information my daughter has tend to let it slip
