I have always been a big fan of Otterbox, my kids love gadgets and with the protective housing I'm happy to let them enjoy.
Most things about the this product are right on the money but it's not perfect. The biggest problem is the head phone socket cover, it just dose not fit, also it is twice the size it needs to be. I can quite understand how it went into production with such a design flaw.This problem needs to be addressed it's just not good enough for a top end product. The other thing which is not such a problem but would make the product complete is some sort of integrated screen protecter, of course you can buy said item, but once again this is top dollar product so it would be nice. All in all I'm not sorry I bought it but it could be better.

Like another reviewer I waited for a while for this to be released for the ipad 2. However, frankly it is just rubbish. There is a lot of protection provided to the back of the ipad, but I can't see the point in this really as there is not much there in need of protection. The front part of the case detaches and has a stand inside which can be opened up to hold the ipad up right, but when collapsed and the cover put back on the ipad it actually looks like it could cause damage to the screen of the ipad if a force was applied to it, which seems to be a design flaw. Also there is just too much rubber everywhere which causes the case to come apart a little if not careful. Otterbox make a great case for the ipod touch 3rd generation which has a great screen protector built in which lets you use the touch interface without problems. I can't understand why they did not use that technology in this case. I have dismissed many reviews on amazon in the past which say "don't get this" but honestly, do yourself a favour and spend much less on one of the p-leather cases which have a cover built in which folds over the screen, it'll provide your ipad 2 with much more protection.

Solid build quality of hard plastic & silicone, not flimsy like the previous reviewer suggests. The provided instructions are language generic, which is to say there's no guiding text just a series of small pictures that aren't very helpful. The otterbox website has video tutorials on how fit all the latest gen apple cases but not one specifically for the ipad 2. This is a pain as the only video available at the time of review is for the 1st gen ipad. I would recommend looking at this vid to get a basic idea on how to fit the case properly.
The supplied stand holds in landscape view only and doubles as a hard plastic protector for the screen of the device.
I have the defender case for my iphone 4 & the ipad 2 defender case is just as sturdy. A bit on the expensive side granted, but offers better protection than the plethora of leather cases available.

Otterbox for iPad

Could be better
Fast dilvery. But that's about it. The otter box dus not fit well and after two days of use it's broken. I didn't Evan drop it it's been in my bag. Not worth the price at all.
