Juan Garcia Esquivel arranger and pianist made a number of big band arrangements in the early sixties which included
his piano. The recordings were meant to demonstrate stereo sound which was new then, so they exaggerate left right
separation. The arrangements include wordless vocals, unusual instrumentation, echo effects, and a variety of percussion
instruments. The sound is a sort of cross between Ray Conniff and Stanley Black with a bit of Sauter Finnegan added.
I like the nostalgia this music evokes in me of the sixties coffee bars and sci fi films. At just over 34 minutes long
it is a bit mean for a re-issue.
