Product Description

Product Description

This deluxe edition of OTHER WAY OUT is the
definitive version of their debut album,
remastered from the original tapes.
Disc 1 expands the original vinyl album with
various tracks from EPs/singles as well as four outtakes
from the OTHER WAY OUT sessions, three of
them previously unreleased!
Disc 2 reworks the previous rarities album, Other
Way In now re-titled ANOTHER WAY IN! This
includes a raft of recordings made around the
same time as OTHER WAY OUT. Once again, some
of these are available for the first time!
This follows SUN DIAL s 2-CD anthology, Processed
For DNA, and their brand new self-titled studio
album on Shrunken Head.

Fronted by guitarist Gary Ramon, psychedelic rock
band Sun Dial emerged in 1990 with the classic LP
OTHER WAY OUT, which attracted rave reviews.
Their next album, Reflecter (1992), reached the Indie
Top 5, prompting a deal with Beggars Banquet.
Libertine (1993) streamlined their psychedelic sound
while Acid Yantra (1995) introduced a heavier sound
with echoes of Black Sabbath and Nirvana.
Sun Dial returned in 2003 with a new album Zen For
Sale and has since joined forces with ex-Chapterhouse
bassist and long-term collaborator Russell Barrett.
The OTHER WAY OUT classic Plains Of Nazca was
included on the Garage/Psych box set, Children Of

This month, it s the greatest unheard psychedelic record ever.
By Mark Paytress
Some of the finest, mind-frying Acid Rock ever was being forged in a makeshift home
studio in Walthamstow. It s been called the best psychedelic record you ve probably never
heard. There s an interest ing parallel between Sun Dial s pursuit of rock s ragged soul and
Nirvana s contemporaneous pillaging of the Blue Cheer riff-book.

Jimi Hendrix had a son and his name is Gary Ramon.

many think this is Sundial's best album - i'm not sure as 'Acid Yantra' is right up there too.

anyway, this has some excellent psych garage-groove stuff on it, accompanied by all the wah/feedback embellished intricate-but-blistering solos one would and should expect of someone who's got fantastic guitar-playing and songwriting talent and knows how to use it.

I will keep it short and sweet, if you have any intrest in psychedelic music you have to get this album.
Not only do you get the original album in all its glory but you get the bonus of 22 extra tracks and great notes on the making of the album.
A must have for any fan of psychedelic music.
Just get it and see what you have been missing.

I had half of this album on an old c90 tape when it 1st came out circa 1990 and used to play it over and over but was never able to find it on CD anywhere. Thank the lord then for this reissue of what is in my opinion the best pyschedelic album made after 1969, with even more tracks!

Sun Dial went on to make a few more albums but all are in the shadow of this mammoth freakout of a record which really should be more widely known. Other Way Out sounds like a mix of Traffic, Love, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, 13th Floor Elevators & Santana and i urge anyone with even a passing interest in Pyschedelia to buy this and you will see Colours Exploding In Your Mind.
