Good to see Zoe back after a break with a book worth waiting for. Funny, with good insights into two different social worlds and a witty interchange between them. Very believable characters, written through the eyes of a writer. Entertaining - definite smiles and a few sniggers if not outright laughter. Well measured pathos - I was moved by the touching events unfolding late in the book. Loved the ending - I probably should have spotted it earlier, but I was too caught up in the personalities! Buy it - you won't regret it

I thoroughly enjoyed this funny intelligently written book, which examined topical issues such as Lloyds insurance and adoption and single parents. The book was also sad but there was always some hope in Zoe's lively and thoughtful female characters. Maybe not as 'crucial' as Benefits was in it's time nor as political but a good read nevertheless!
