This book is a lot of information wrapped up in a neat story. Really nicely illustrated. My Home educated 5 yr old daughter liked it a lot.

Great book on a difficult subject. Difficult to explain electricity to kids but this very stylish book does a great job of holding a young child's interest.

Having gone this far I wondered if the book could have also put in a few more SHORT explanations- how does lightning happen?, does everything around us actually have electricity? , what happens in a power statition (a small very basic schematic of power generation in a power plant and also a little picture on how wind mills do the job at a VERY BASIC level)?

My four year old did ask me more questions on each of these areas and I am working my own little pictures and notes for her to add into the book.

Also, the SAFETY points should have been highlighted a bit more-" bare wires are dangerous" the bird tells Oscar she should have also added about plug points etc. I feel the author could have devoted an entire page to that with some dramatic pictures.

Overall a great book, I particularly loved the circuit diagram of how the wipers worked - very nicely done. Most importantly for me, it got my child asking so many questions on electricity. I am surprised it really got her interested.
